Private women's liberal arts college in New York City. The institution was founded by Annie Nathan Meyer after Columbia University refused to admit woman. The university offers 50 bachelor's degrees in a number of disciplines and also allows cross study with Columbia, The Juilliard School, the Manhattan School of Music, and The Jewish Theological Seminary.
The school's bi-weekly magazine is known as the Barnard Bulletin. The university also maintains a radio station called WBAR.
